SUPPORT MEDA
Since its inception in 1971, MEDA has served over 18,000 entrepreneurs of color and assisted in the start-up of more than 460 businesses. We exist to break down the barriers to wealth and self-sufficiency entrepreneurs of color face in building futures for themselves, their families and their businesses. We do this by helping build stable companies that create jobs, new consumers, new corporate suppliers and increase economic activity.
Here are the primary ways people choose to support MEDA:
Contributions:
Supporters may contribute directly to us through matching gifts programs at their workplace and designated donations through United Way or Donate Now through our website.
Special Event Sponsorships:
The MEDA GALA is our signature fundraising event, which provides people the opportunity to have fun while supporting the organization. The annual event features a live and silent auction, dinner and performances. The 2011 MEDA GALA has an theme is UNDER ONE SUN and will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center on November 19. In addition to the gala you may sponsor the Annual Recognition Luncheon every June.
In-Kind Gifts:
We welcome donations of goods and services that can be used for events such as the silent and live auctions at our MEDA GALA.
Planned Giving
Planned Giving helps make sure your personal goals are met as part of your ongoing financial, estate, and philanthropic planning.
Planning a gift to MEDA, creates a lasting legacy that will allow future entrepreneurs receive the services they need to succeed in business as well as in the community. MEDA has ambitious plans for the future and each gift helps provide the means to turn them into reality.
A bequest to MEDA may be made as either a specific dollar amount or as a certain percentage of the estate or of another asset. Here is the pertinent information regarding the designation of a bequest to MEDA:

Gifts in honor or in memory of someone special:
Gifts are accepted when given in honor of special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries or in memory of someone who has passed. All contributors receive thank you letters and families are notified of memorial givers so that they can send personal acknowledgments.
