MEDA - D/W/MBE Construction Connection Plan Room
The MEDA Construction Connection Plan Room was created to provide unfettered access to construction plans to DBE, WBE and MBE contractors. They will be able to view projects online and download files of detailed plans without charge. They can also order paper prints directly from a reprographer. Plans are provided in a high-definition Adobe PDF format that can be viewed in the free Adobe Reader, and used by a number of standard takeoff tools.
Owners and contractors that want to ensure that disadvantaged businesses will have access to their projects may post them in the MEDA Plan Room without charge, either by sending a set of plans or uploading them via the internet. Requests for bid may be included with the plans. Any owner or contractor that is posting plans to the plan room will be given access, so they can see who has downloaded plans to their projects. The MEDA plan room can also provide - by request - a list of companies that have looked at a project but have not downloaded the plans.
Posting a project to the MEDA Plan Room provides a contractor with a tangible record of timely outreach efforts, and an unprecedented ability to track subcontractor interest in the absence of an actual bid.
