MEDA’s core service is business consulting. Our staff of highly-qualified business consultants provides a wealth of talent, knowledge and expertise that is shared in a trusted and confidential environment. This talent is augmented by the involvement of hundreds of excellent volunteers drawn from a variety of corporate and community sources in the areas of marketing, legal issues, accounting, operations and human resource management.
The long-term goal is to help clients create sustainable businesses with community involvement that make a significant economic impact in terms of job creation and tax contribution. Through the provision of financial and business development resources, we help entrepreneurs build capacity, balance growth and stability and improve financial, management, marketing and human resource systems.

- Pacesetter Program
The Pacesetter Program is our flagship program. It is a comprehensive and intensive look at existing businesses owned by entrepreneurs of color that show high potential for rapid growth and job creation. The program’s goal is to enhance the growth and profitability of that business – filling in the gaps of knowledge about financing, organizational infrastructure and internal systems.
- Entrepreneurial Leadership Program
The Entrepreneurial Leadership Program was launched in 2007 as a specialized program intended to produce business leaders of color who can move outside of the walls of their companies and take leadership roles in the community.
- The MEDA Construction Connection
The Construction Partnering Program (CPP) develops competitive and self-sufficient minority general and sub-contractors by partnering them with majority contractors. MEDA facilitates the linkage between these two partner companies and further assists the minority business with business counseling. The program’s aim is to prepare the minority company to eventually work as a stand alone contractor and bid on major projects.
The MEDA Construction Industry Internet Plan Room provides unfettered access and users will be able to view projects online, order paper prints, and download detailed plans to print in their office.
