Nanci Dixon
and the General Mills
Photography Team

The main character in a food business is the food itself! When General Mills was asked if someone could help make our clients’ food look great in a marketing plan, Nanci Dixon appeared with an entire team of professionals and produced photo spreads for three MEDA clients

We thank the generous spirit of General Mills employees and honor Nanci and her team as MEDA’s 2010 Volunteer Team of the Year.

Mark Ratner
SCORE Volunteer
Mark Ratner

When Mark Ratner left his job as CFO ofa wind energy company, he found hehad time on his hands. He wanted a volunteer activity that would allow him to use the business skills he had built over a lifetime and put his energies into helping small companies. So, he got involved with SCORE in 2008.

With a background in finance, an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Business and 12 years of experience as a commercial banker for Wells Fargo, he also brought to the table experience as CFO of four businesses, including Northwest Racquet, Swim and Health Clubs and several start-ups.

Our client had great luck when Mark offered to help in a very difficult turnaround situation. Through a collaborative effort, Mark and MEDA consultant, Scott Ochsner, collaborated to produce a turnaround plan, involving strategic and creative negotiation. The plan wasn’t all Mark did; he saw it through a successful implementation.

We thank SCORE for attracting such incredible talent and congratulate Mark Ratner as MEDA’s 2010 Volunteer of the Year.
